Requirements for submission of documents for a Schengen visa to the Embassy of the Republic of Latvia in the Russian Federation by persons who are not citizens of Russia ‪(in addition to basic requirements)

In cases of third-country nationals:

For citizens of countries-members of CIS (except for Belarus, Armenia and Kazakhstan), residing in the territory of the Russian Federation without visas, one of the following (sets) of valid documents:

• for all sets optional: registration — copy (valid on the territory of the Russian Federation not less than 3 months after departure from Schengen countries.);
• residence permit — copy (issued UVM) in the form of separate records of passport);
• a temporary residence permit (issued by the UVM in the form of a stamp in the passport);
• work permit — copy (issued UVM in the form of a plastic card) and a certificate of personal income tax — original;
• for students resident students: student ID copy and reference from the educational institution- original.

For citizens of Belarus, Kazakhstan and Armenia, residing in the territory of the Russian Federation without a visa, one of the following valid documents:

• for all sets optional: registration — copy (operating on the territory of the Russian Federation not less than 3 months after departure from Schengen countries.);
• working citizens of Belarus and Kazakhstan: certificate of the personal income tax — original and copy of the employment contract with the Russian company;
• for resident students: student ID — copy and a reference  from educational institution;
• for the rest: a temporary residence permit (issued by the UVM in the form of a stamp in the passport) or residence permit.

For citizens of Ukraine, Georgia, residing in the territory of the Russian Federation, one of the following (sets) of valid documents:

• for all sets optional: registration — copy (valid on the territory of the Russian Federation not less than 3 months after departure from Schengen countries);
• a temporary residence permit (issued by the UVM in the form of a stamp in the passport);
• residence permit — copy (issued UVM in the form of separate records of passport);
• work permit/patent — a copy (issued UVM in the form of a plastic card) and a certificate of  personal income tax — original;
• for students resident students: student ID copy and reference from the educational institution-original;
• patent — a copy and a certificate of personal income tax-original.

For holders of biometric passports there is a visa waiver system (visa-free regime).

For citizens of all other States residing in the territory of the Russian Federation, one of the following (sets) of valid documents:

• for all sets optional: registration — copy (valid on the territory of the Russian Federation not less than 3 months after departure from Schengen countries);
• residence permit — copy (issued UVM in the form of separate records of passport);
• a temporary residence permit (issued by the UVM in the form of a stamp in the passport);
• work permit/patent — a copy (issued UVM in the form of a plastic card) and a certificate of personal income tax— original; passport required the presence of an appropriate visa*;
• for students resident students: visa and student ID — copy and certificate from educational institution (original).
